Consumers don’t care about the internet anymore because it’s irrelevant to their private social networks. Google search and conventional web marketing channels of persistent emails and campaigns are on the wane too. So getting a business or brand message out there is a different business nowadays. May the display ads have a long and lingering death to remind us of the UX horrors they inflict upon users. And do users really need more marketing emails delivered directly to their spam folders?
Nowadays a brand message must be integrated with the content users consume from the social media networks they engage with. Otherwise the brand name will fade into obscurity as it clings on to its outdated modes of marketing.
Conventional internet marketing is dying. Long live social media networks.
